The author of The World Republic of Letters passed away at 59
It is with great sadness to learn from The Institute for World Literature (IWL) at Harvard University that the "French literary critic Pascale Casanova died on September 29, 2018, at the age of 59. During the past ten years, she has been courageously fighting an incurable disease while publishing two fresh books. Her work represents a major contribution to the field of world literature." Here is an overview of her intellectual achievements, as well as a few homages by notable figures in World/Comparative Literature such as Gisèle Sapiro, David Damrosch, Orhan Pamuk, and Franco Moretti.
